Shaft Mounted Drive

The gearmotor mounts straight onto the conveyor shaft and can be turned around it in 15° steps, so it can be angled away from whatever is in the way.

Fit the drive directly to the conveyor shaft and position the gearmotor around it to suit the surrounding machine. AC or DC motors are available, including variable-speed control.

How it fits

How it fits your conveyor.

  1. Position the drive around the shaft

A machine frame, guard or support can leave room for a motor in one direction but not another. The gearmotor can be positioned around the conveyor shaft in 15° steps, while the shaft connection stays in the same place.

In practiceA frame member or guard in one direction doesn’t block the drive: turn it to where there is room.

  2. Direct coupling

The gearmotor joins the conveyor shaft directly. We match the connection and mounting to the conveyor, leaving access for the cable and for removing the gearmotor.

Drive position

Where each drive sits on the conveyor

The drive goes where the machine leaves room: on the shaft, in line with it, at a right angle, or underneath the frame.

Options

Configured for your line.

  • AC and DC motors

90V DC, 115V single-phase AC, 208V single-phase AC, 220/230V single-phase and 230/460V three-phase AC. We match the motor and controller to your supply and the movement needed.

  • Speed control and installation

Variable-speed control; manual or automated controls, cable arrangements and protective enclosures. The controller, motor and conveyor set the usable belt-speed range.

Technical details

The numbers, with their scope.

Power, torque and RPM figures are references for the drive package, not conveyor load or belt-speed ratings. The selected motor, reduction ratio and duty decide the actual output; we confirm them for your conveyor.

Service and support

Gearmotor change in under two minutes

A screw-on electrical connector lets the connection be separated when the gearmotor is replaced, giving a changeout of less than two minutes.

Space around the shaft connection, mounting points and cable matters when the gearmotor comes off; we plan that access.

The two-minute example applies with the screw-on connector, to the gearmotor only. It isn’t a belt change and doesn’t apply to every installation.
