Cleats with flexible sides for small products

Flex-Side Cleated Conveyor

A cleated conveyor with flexible sides built into the belt, for small or fragile products that shouldn’t rub against fixed side walls.

Flexible sides and cleats separate, count and time small products on horizontal or inclined runs. We select the belt, cleats and conveyor arrangement for your product.

Primary feature

Flexible sides for small products

Designed for small or fragile products where contact with fixed sides is undesirable. The belt combines flexible sides with cleats, so products are kept apart within the conveying path.

In practiceSmall or fragile products are contained by the belt itself, not by fixed walls they could rub or catch on.

Quick belt change

The endless belt can be replaced without removing the drive or taking the conveyor off its stands. Mounted on our open stand design, the belt change takes two minutes.

In practiceThe drive and stands stay in place while the belt is changed.

The belt-removal path needs to stay accessible.

The endless belt can be replaced without removing the drive or dismantling the conveyor from its stands.
  • Cleats for separating, counting and timing

Cleats divide products along the belt: to keep them apart in transport, to present them one by one for counting or timing, and to move them on horizontal or inclined runs.

  • Sealed bearings

Bearings are sealed and lubricated for life. Belt inspection, cleaning and replacement still need access.

In practiceNo routine bearing lubrication in your maintenance schedule.

Cleats between flexible sides

Each cleat sits between the flexible sides, so small or fragile products are kept apart without touching a fixed side.

Options and accessories

Choose the cleats and belt, the style and drive, and the rails and construction.

  1. 01Cleats and belt material

Chosen for the product, cleaning chemicals and environment.

    • Cleat height

20, 30 or 40 mm; other sizes on request. The cleat is 2.63 in (66.7 mm) narrower than the belt, to leave room for the flexible sides.

    • Urethane or rubber belts

      Two belt materials.

  2. 02Style and drive

We select the drive for the movement, load and incline.

    • Standard and Automation styles

In SAE and metric versions. An alternative mount is available for the Standard style; ask for the drawing.

    • Reversible AC and DC drives

Motors that run in either direction.

  3. 03Rails and construction

    Extra support, dimensions and materials.

    • Side rails

UHMW or stainless steel rails for extra support, placed where the product might touch a fixed side.

    • Custom sizes and stainless steel frame

Custom widths and lengths. Stainless steel for washdown; suitability depends on cleaning access, chemicals and exposure.

Configured with

One conveyor, one complete system.

We design the drive, guides and stand with the conveyor, from the same modular system, so the parts are designed to work together.
