Flat-belt conveyor with an end-mounted drive

End-Drive Conveyors

The straightforward flat-belt conveyor in our range: the drive mounts at the end of the conveyor, belts change without tools, and tension and tracking are set by gauge.

A low-profile conveying surface with the motor and gearbox mounted at the end of the conveyor, an arrangement that can place the drive outside a die or mold area. We select the conveyor and drive for your application.

Features

Engineered for the job it does every day.

Tool-free belt changes can be completed in minutes, with access determined by the tail and mounting arrangement.

Primary feature

Tool-free belt change in minutes

Tool-free belt changes can be completed in minutes. The construction lets an endless belt be replaced without removing the drive or dismantling the conveyor from its stands. Mounted on our open stand design, the belt change takes two minutes.

Belt-replacement access depends on the tail arrangement and mounting.

In practiceThe drive and stands stay in place while the belt is changed, so the conveyor stays in the line.

Calibrated belt tension and tracking

A gauge on each side of the belt calibrator shows where the belt is set. Use it to set tension and keep the belt running straight, and to check belt length before ordering a replacement, without taking the belt off.

In practiceTension and tracking are set to a reference, not by feel, and a replacement belt can be checked for length before the old one comes off.

The calibrator provides references for tension, tracking and belt-length checking.
  • End-mounted drive placement

The motor and gearbox sit outside the conveying area and can be positioned outside a die or mold area. Their position is part of the installation envelope, with guarding, cables and the infeed or discharge.

In practiceThe motor stays out of the conveying area and can sit clear of the die or mold.

  • Sealed bearings and crowned drive pulley

The crowned drive pulley uses two self-aligning bearings, sealed and lubricated for life. The solid steel bearing housing is also the drive mounting surface. No routine bearing lubrication.

In practiceNo routine bearing lubrication in your maintenance schedule.

Options and accessories

Configure the style and drive, how the part is guided and held, and the controls and dimensions.

  1. 01Style and drive

We compare arrangements against your mounting layout, belt-access space and start/stop sequence.

    • Standard and Automation styles

      Flip-up or non-flip-up tail plates.

    • Drive and direction

AC and DC motors, including ones that run in either direction. Running uphill, letting products back up on a moving belt, or running away from the drive can need more belt tension and motor torque; we check this before choosing the drive.

  2. 02Guide and hold the part

Containment and positioning on the belt.

    • Side guides and width extenders

Optional side guides keep products on the belt. For wider products, extenders add space: one set widens the gap between the guide rails by 1.25 in, another lets most End-Drive conveyors carry products up to 2 in wider than the belt. We specify the extenders as part of the design.

      View side guides →
    • Part holders

Holders that keep small parts in position on the belt, designed around how the part needs to be presented.

  3. 03Controls and dimensions

Integration with the process and the space around it.

    • Sensors and automated controls

Sensors that detect when a part is present, and controls that time the conveyor to the rest of the process. How they connect depends on your equipment.

    • Custom dimensions

Custom lengths and widths, matched to the space around the drive and tail.

One conveyor, one complete system.

We design the drive, guides and stand with the conveyor, from the same modular system, so the parts are designed to work together.
