Flat-belt conveyor with the drive beneath

Center Drive Conveyor

The flat-belt conveyor for layouts with no room for a motor at either end: the drive sits underneath and can move along the conveyor.

The drive mounts beneath the conveyor and can be repositioned along its length, keeping the infeed and discharge ends clear. Reversible drives, quick belt changes and Standard or Automation styles are available. We select the conveyor and drive arrangement for your layout.

Features

Engineered for the job it does every day.

The Center Drive can be repositioned in 3 in increments along the conveyor.

Primary feature

Repositionable center drive

The drive can be moved in 3 in steps along the conveyor. That helps when neither end has room for a motor, on longer conveyors, and where product overhangs the ends.

In practiceBoth ends stay free for transfers, even where product overhangs or the conveyor is long.

Quick belt change

Endless belts can be replaced without removing the drive or taking the conveyor off its stands. The design keeps the belt-removal path clear. Mounted on our open stand design, the belt change takes two minutes.

In practiceThe drive and stands stay in place while the belt is changed.

The endless belt can be replaced without removing the drive or dismantling the conveyor from its stands.
  • Calibrated belt tension and tracking

A gauge on each side of the belt calibrator shows where the belt is set. Use it to set tension and keep the belt running straight, and to check belt length before ordering a replacement, without taking the belt off.

In practiceTension and tracking are set to a reference, not by feel.

  • One-piece frame and sealed bearings

Conveyors 10 ft and shorter use a one-piece frame. Bearings are sealed and lubricated for life.

In practiceNo routine bearing lubrication in your maintenance schedule.

Options and accessories

Configure the style and drive, how products are guided and held, and the frame and length.

  1. 01Style and drive

We select the drive for the speed, load and movement sequence you need.

    • Standard and Automation styles

In U.S. and metric versions, with optional side rails.

    • Reversible AC and DC drives

Motors that run in either direction. Running uphill, letting products back up on a moving belt, or running away from the drive can need more belt tension and motor torque; we check this when choosing the drive.

  2. 02Guide and hold the part

Containment and positioning on the belt.

    • Side guides and width extenders

Optional side guides keep products on the belt. With extenders, the gap between the guide rails can be up to 3 in wider than shown in the guide drawings. This widens the guide gap, not the belt.

    • Part holders

Customizable holders that keep the product in the position it needs.

  3. 03Frame and length

Construction and dimensions for the space and the environment.

    • Stainless steel frame

For washdown and areas cleaned often. The configuration depends on the cleaning method, chemicals and moisture.

    • Custom lengths

We match the length and drive position to the machine layout.

The numbers, with their conditions.

The drive and belt-change access need space beyond the belt width and conveyor length. Load and speed are confirmed with the drive selection.

Configured with

One conveyor, one complete system.

We design the drive, guides and stand with the conveyor, from the same modular system, so the parts are designed to work together.
